Saturday, August 7, we were lucky enough to witness the on-air revelation/proposal of Robin Padilla to Mariel Rodriguez on Elive.
It was the shows special birthday episode for Mariel that featured her first exclusive one on one interview with the bad boy of Philippine Cinema and the first time they talked about the on-goings between them.
Mariel also finally admitted that the controversial 1.2 million-peso diamond ring she wore on the buzz a few weeks ago is in fact a gift from Robin. The people who have been aware of Robins past have said that it’s his first time to do such a thing on-air and that despite his reputation and infamous past involving women, people saw that what he showed on TV was a very sincere and unlikely gesture.
Could it be true love? Has this finally broken people’s perception about him? Or, is it just a momentarily infatuation that will soon fade away until the next leading lady comes along?
Their happiness is infectious; even I feel the butterflies whenever Robin takes a long glance at Mariel… But, that’s been his effect ever since, hence all the women swooning. He knows how to sweep women off their feet with just a stare. I do hope that this will be for real - and not only for real but for long!
