"Bulong" - Ang Unang Pelikula ng Star Cinema sa Taong 2011

Filipinos believe that whispering to the ears of the dead will make your wish come true. Conan (Vhong Navarro) tries this mantra, being desperate for Ellen’s love. He whispers to a dead lady his heartache—how he wishes Ellen to love him back. After days of waiting, Conan observes that something unusual is happening: Ellen is now noticing him, giving him more than the attention he wants. In fact, Ellen is now obsessed with him, throwing herself at him. This makes Conan uncomfortable and scared.

But Ellen’s giving him special attention is not the only unusual thing Conan notices: something eerie has been happening to him, giving him the chills, especially when he’s alone. At first he tries to disregard it, until he realizes that the spirit haunting him is the spirit of the old lady he whispered his wish to. Conan can’t take the haunting anymore and so he asks for the help of his former best friend Oprah (Angelica Panganiban). Together they travel to the province of Madam Kara, Oprah’s old aunt who is an expert on Black Magic. As they travel together, Conan and Oprah’s feelings for each other awaken. But this makes the haunting worse, and Conan begins to feel guilty as the spirit starts to disturb Oprah too.

When they arrive at Madam Kara’s house, the old lady pities Conan and explains to him the real story: The dead woman was a mangkukulam. Conan is now tasked to complete the unfinished business of the dead mangkukulam before it’s too late. Conan gets more terrified. And as Madam Kara explains what he should do, Conan hesitates. Is it worth going through the trouble to end the haunting?

From the director who gave us Feng Shui and Sukob, Chito Rono is back with another thrill seeker, spine tingling film about true love, selfish wishes, and the horror these all bring.

DALAW: Does it come in three's?

For the sake of her son, Paolo, Stella is re-married to another man, Anton, in the hopes of a having a whole and peaceful family life. However, after the wedding, she experiences major haunting that endangers her life and the people around her. All the clues are pointing to her dead husband. Feeling guilty of her ex-husband’s death, Stella tries to save her family from the ghost’s wrath. Along the way, secrets start to unravel and Stella is now unsure of who is haunting her and why she is being haunted.

Starring the queen of horror, Kris Aquino and directed by Dondon Santos, Dalaw is one of Star Cinema’s official entries at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2010.

Also starring are Diether Ocampo, Karylle, Empress, Alessandra de Rossi, Ina Feleo, Susan Africa, Maliksi Morales and Ms. Gina Pareño.

So these are teasers and synopsis of 'DALAW', another horror led by Kris Aquino. From Sukob to Feng Sui, this will be her third horror flick. Will this be the 'third' of her streak of successes in this genre?

In this heartwarming story about second chances and making things right, how much of one’s past is worth remembering? How much is worth forgetting?

When Apollo finds himself surrounded by friends who are beginning to settle down, he is faced with the possibility of finding his true love. It all boils down to one name: Irene. It must be fate then, when he once again sees Irene, his ex-girlfriend from three years ago with whom he had the best memories with. Apollo and Irene were a perfect couple until circumstances led them to fall apart.

Now, Irene has no recollection of Apollo, having acquired amnesia shortly after their separation. Apollo sees this as the perfect opportunity to pursue Irene again, and be able to undo all the mistakes he made in the past, by offering Irene the best memories she could ever have.

True love is difficult to resist, they learn. Just when they find themselves ready to commit to each other, the pains from the past catch up with them, challenging them to finally own up to the mistakes made and lies said, and eventually realize what it is to forgive and forget.
