Until yesterday, (supposedly the first day of work and class for many) people still flocked to their favorite malls. I was at TriNoma, thinking that it was the best time to watch a (MMFF) movie but to my surprise, the lines were still as long as that of the first day! Kaloks! Akala ko ba tapos na bakasyon? May pera pa pala ang madlang people para mag malling... Well, when I saw the long lines sa ticket booths ng cinema, I wasn't (at all) disheartened. Bilang isa akong malaking supporter ng local films, I was very happy with what I saw! :) I hope ganto rin ang suporta ng mga kababayan natin sa local films even after the MMFF, even when there are other foreign movies served on the plate.
Anyway, this I heard, "Enteng Ng Ina Mo", which is number 1 in the box office, is almost reaching the P200 million mark. The margin from the top spot to number 2 is quite big, pero ang "Segunda Mano" (number 2) ay hindi naman nagpapatalo cause they are so close to reaching P100 million already.
O diba? Sabi ko naman sa inyo even before these movies came out, I had a gut feeling na sila ang papatok! Hindi ako bias, I just have good taste and an eye for good movies ;) Who would miss the collaboration of box office king and queen, Vic and Aiai? And doesn't the strong word of mouth of Segunda Mano (trended on Twitter for a couple of days) prove a sure win?
Congratulations to the producers, staff, crew, directors and artists of "Enteng Ng Ina Mo" and "Segunda Mano"... Star Cinema, kayo ang common denominator... Pansin niyo? :)
